Visitors admiring Hibiscus syriacus

Late August and visitors are puzzling over the identification of the Hibiscus syriacus. Despite the name the plant is not from Syria but from Asia and has been grown in Korea since records began.  It is the national flower of South Korea and has been grown in Europe since the sixteenth century.
