Galanthus by the Gate

A few miles away from the Holkham Walled Garden is the pretty village of Warham, noted, not only for the remarkable pies served at the Three Horseshoes, but also for its famous place in the history of the Galanthus (snowdrop). Apparently bulbs were brought back from the Crimean War to the village.
This photograph may be of the Warham, or it could be the Washfield Warham. A peep through the ornate gates to the Walled Garden would be all that is needed for a 'Galanthophile' to decide. Jonathan Taylor, Deputy Head Gardener has enthusiastically  planted local varieties there.
