The First Clove of Garlic

This is a very special clove of garlic (Allium sativum) as it is among the first cloves to be planted in the new produce garden on the north side of the Holkham Walled Garden.
The pheasants may be thinking it looks interesting too, something along the line of a nice fat wiggly worm.
Growing garlic is simple for beginners to vegetable gardening. Traditionally garlic is planted on the shortest day of the year and harvested on the longest, the garden is ready now and the garlic will soon catch up.
